Aircraft Refueller Supervisor - Halifax

PAL Aviation Services is currently seeking an Aircraft Refueller Supervisor to be permanently located at our base in Halifax, NS.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Refuel aircraft and promptly respond to all requests for refuelling;
  • Operation of VHF and Handheld radios to communicate with other employees regarding matters relevant to Atlantic Sky Service operation;
  • Marshalling/movement of aircraft which also includes towing, positioning and parking of aircraft on the ramp or in the hangar;
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual quality tests and checks on products and equipment and input into log books as per ESSO procedures;
  • Follow out safety, hazard control and emergency response procedures, ensure familiarity with these procedures for each emergency and control for emergencies to reduce the chance of occurrence;
  • Ensure equipment maintenance as routine equipment checks are performed, correct minor problems that are found and perform preventative maintenance;
  • Perform data keeping to report and log above-mentioned checks and maintenance and complete the paperwork accumulated during the shift;
  • Assist snow clearing in winter months;
  • Transport customers to and from terminal and hotel as required;
  • Perform aircraft services including: lavatory, water and ground power unit services;
  • Coordinate pick-up of aircraft parts;
  • Cover employee sick calls if required;
  • Customer service and assistance when a Customer Service Representative is not available including: reception duties and assisting customers in accommodations, catering, transportation and any other requirements.
  • Cash/credit card sales;
  • All other related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License Class 3 with air brake endorsement;
  • Previous experience in aviation refueling;
  • In-depth knowledge of refueling trucks;
  • Mechanically-inclined and able to troubleshoot/fix minor GSE problems and able to troubleshoot building related issues and arrange contractor(s);
  • Able to operate front end loader;
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Position is usually Monday-Friday; however, availability to work ADHOC operations outside normal business hours is required.
